We stay every year for our family reunion and we absolutely love it.

This is THE place to stay in Ridgway, PA. The breakfasts are fabulous and Phyllis and Dwight a delight.

We had originally booked the Abbigail Suite, but found out when we arrived that it had been double-booked. Phyllis had emailed me on the morning of our reservation to let me know and tried to text me, but we were driving all day and I did not have adequate cell phone signal to receive the messages. Luckily, the Jennifer Room was available and we were lodged there. We arrived a little late (about 5:30pm), and Phyllis and Dwight were on their way out when we arrived. We were able to get some recommendations for dinner and information about the house before they left, but they were gone by the time we had dropped our things in our room and were ready to head out ourselves. This would normally not be a problem, except that we had a lot of difficulty getting our room door to lock and also locking the front door. Once we finally managed to jiggle these locks into submission, we headed out walking to have dinner in Ridgway. This little town was highly disappointing and I would recommend that anyone staying here plan on driving out for dinner. There was a "bar and grille" (which turned out to be a pool hall) and a sit-down Italian restaurant (which turned out to be a dingy diner). There were some cute looking stores and an ice-cream shop, but nothing was open at 6pm on a Saturday night. After a very disappointing evening in town, we came back to relax at the B&B. They did not have any freshly-baked treats as I would normally expect, but they did have several bottles of wine, locally-brewed Straub beer, and some liquors to choose from (in addition to coffees, teas, and sodas), so we relaxed on the porch swing and had a nice finish to our evening. The Jennifer Room was very comfortable, and although the bathroom was down the hall it was very spacious as compared to most bathrooms at B&Bs, so that made up for it not being en-suite. The breakfast in the morning was very good. I had requested gluten-free/dairy-free in advance, and so I had an English breakfast with fried eggs, sausage, tomatoes, and some gluten-free toast, and my husband had blueberry pancakes.

This is an excellent bed and breakfast. The couple that owns it are very sweet and truly care about their establishment. The bedrooms were well appointed with extra pillows available. The bathroom connected to the bedroom was clean and well maintained. Breakfast was delicious with homemade muffins, fresh fruit and yogurt, and eggs with bacon and pancakes. There is a peaceful back deck with cushioned chairs to enjoy as well as a lovely front porch. This place comes highly recommended for anyone staying in Ridgway.

Dwight is the best guy around!
